Darley leads the thunder at the plate as Pearl City slams Waipahu 16-7 (4/6/2016)

Pearl City pounded out 17 hits to defeat Waipahu 16-7 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division varsity baseball played at Waipahu High School on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.

Pearl City bats exploded on Waipahu scoring six runs in the top of sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie and take a 12-6 lead over the Marauders. Waipahu scored one run in the bottom of the sixth inning to make it 12-7, but the Chargers came back in the top of the seventh inning with four more runs to go up 16-7.

Trenton Darley led the Chargers at the plate hitting 3-5 with a double, 2 Runs and 4 RBI.

Trestan Nakamura earned the win in relief for the Chargers. Gabriel Ballesteros took the loss for the Marauders.

Pearl City remains perfect at 10-0 while Waipahu fell to 2-7.
