Pearl City improves to 3-0 after pounding Kalaheo 43-8 (8/26/2016)

The Pearl City Chargers pounded out a lopsided 43-8 win over the Kalaheo Mustangs Friday night at Kailua High School’s Alex Kane Stadium to improve to a perfect 3-0 in OIA Division 2 varsity football regular season standings. Kalaheo fell to 1-2.

Pearl City jumped on the Mustangs scoring 23 points in the first quarter that included a recovered fumble in the end zone for a touchdown on the Mustangs opening drive and a safety. The Chargers built a 37-0 lead at the half. The second half moved along with the 35 point lead rule that enforced a running clock.

The Chargers explosive offense and special teams has lit up the scoreboard so far during the regular season scoring 105 points while the Chargers stingy defense has held opposing offenses to 28 points.

The Chargers return to action on Friday, September 2, on the road at Waialua. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00pm. No Junior Varsity game scheduled.
