Overhead guideway installation and column work is nearing completion along Kamehameha Highway from Acacia Road to Laulima Street for the Honolulu rail transit project. Only a small section of guideway construction remains between Aiea Access Road and the already completed section at Aloha Stadium.
With many larger operations coming to an end, crews have begun the process of restoring the median and completing utility work along Kamehameha Highway. Daytime median restoration started this summer in Pearl City and will continue eastbound into Aiea over the coming months. Nightly traffic signal installation and guideway finishing work will also move eastbound from Pearl City into Aiea throughout the rest of the year. These operations will require nightly contraflows and intersection closures.
