Construction Update: Construction Progress

Kiewit's work on the Honolulu rail transit project has made significant steps on constructing the guideway from East Kapolei to Aloha Stadium. In June, we completed three miles of guideway installation near the Fort Weaver overpass and in July the two sections of guideway over the H-1 freeway westbound connected for our specialized work called balanced cantilever. Progress in Waipahu has been more visible, with columns along Farrington Highway and work on the overhead guideway to follow. In Pearl City and Aiea, utliity work is near completion, and as we continue with the underground shaft, or foundation work, the column construction will begin in the fall.

We understand that construction hs been a challenge for commuters and businesses in the area and appreciate your patience. The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) has been implementing programs to assist businesses impacted by construction.
