Mahalo for everyone who supported Saturday's 30th Annual Hawaii Foodbank Food Drive held at collection sites across Oahu.

Mahalo to our generous Pearl City community for their food and cash donations made at the Pearl City Shopping Center and Pearl City Walmart collection sites. Connie Bennett, Director of Finance, Hawaii Foodbank, serves as food drive coordinator for the Pearl City Shopping Center collection-donation drop-off site. She works hard each year, along with a group of very dedicated volunteers to reach their goals of exceeding the previous year's collection totals. She has a special place in her heart for our Pearl City community, and our community is truly grateful for her efforts, energy, and leadership role in making the annual food drive a success.

"Our goal for the island is one million meals. Our goal for Pearl City is 5500 pounds of food and $7500," said Bennett. "That will beat last year’s record. I live in east Honolulu, but choose to come out here every year because of the heart of the people. They’re so generous. Thank you to the community for their support of the Hawaii Foodbank’s 30th Annual Food Drive".

Community and corporate donations, along with volunteer manpower representing community groups, businesses, churches and our military community are the heart and soul of each collection-donation drop-off site.  Together, the Hawaii Foodbank's mission to provide a million meals for Hawaii's hungry are reached annually.
