PAC-5 comeback heroics beats Pearl City 28-21 (10.5.19)

PAC-5 QB Chase Hedani threw a four-yard game winning touchdown strike to Kaala Tam with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie and lead the Wolfpack over Pearl City 28-21 yesterday afternoon at Aloha Stadium.

Hedani passed for 258 yards completing 23/33 with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Ian Canute caught three passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns for the Wolfpack. Kaala Tam hauled in 8 passes for 74 yards with two touchdowns which included the game winning touchdown reception.

Pearl City QB Makana Canyon passed for 271 yards completing 19/28 with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Isaiah Cruz-Amerperosa completed 1/1 for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Charger wide receiver Joshua Gleason caught 6 passes for 113 yards with one touchdown to lead all receivers.

Pearl City running back Ali’i Gaspar rushed for 86 yards on 14 carries with one touchdown.

Pearl City defensive back Gabriel Parrish returned a third quarter fumble 80 yards to increase the Chargers lead to 20-7 over the Wolfpack. Landon Chang converted the PAT to put the Chargers up 21-7.

With loss, Pearl City fell to 2-7 while PAC-5 improved to 5-3.

The Chargers will host the Waialua Bulldogs in their season finale on Saturday, October 12 with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.

Pearl City will also bid farewell to the 2020 Senior Class Chargers following the ball game.
