Pearl City senior ace Cade Halemanu took care of business from the mound, while his senior led Charger teammates backed him up on defense and came through at the plate to beat the visiting Kapolei Hurricanes  8-3 on Wednesday at Pearl City High School. With the win, the Chargers improved to 7-4 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division play while Kapolei fell to 2-9  with one game remaining for both teams in their regular season schedules.

Halemanu proved once again to be unstoppable as the Charger ace picked up another win with a complete game performance over seven innings on the hill for the Chargers. Halemanu allowed three runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and no walks.

Andrei Stoyanow pitched six complete innings for the Hurricanes allowing eight runs on five hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

Christian Pacrem led the Chargers at the plate hitting 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Andrei Stoyanow led the Hurricanes at the plate hitting 2-3 with a run scored.

The Chargers picked up a couple rums in the bottom of the second inning and exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Hurricanes scored one run in the top of the fourth inning and two more runs in the top of the fifth inning.

The Chargers will end the regular season on Friday against the Waipahu Marauders (1-10) at Waipahu High School. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm.
