The Pearl City Chargers fended off a last second scoring attempt by the Kaiser Cougars to come away with a 27-21 win on the road at Kaiser High School. The Chargers remain unbeaten at 4-0 in OIA D2 Division league standings. Kaiser pulls even a 2-2.

With 6 seconds left in the ball game, Kaiser QB Easton Yoshino hit Donovan Reis over the middle, but got stopped short on a game saving tackle by the Chargers defensive secondary on the 8-yard line as time expired.

In the win, Charger QB Trey Dacoscos passed for 223 yards, completing 20-29 with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Dacoscos suffered a leg injury in the second quarter and left the game. He returned for the second half, and while hobbling on his injured leg, threw a couple touchdown passes, the first score on a 74-yard touchdown pass to Bradley Kansou with :30 left in the third quarter putting the Chargers up 21-7 after Marcus Rodriguez converted the PAT. Dacoscos connected with Koali’i Torres on a 8-yard scoring toss with 6:34 remaining in the fourth quarter to increase the Chargers lead over the Cougars 27-7. The two-point conversion attempt failed.

Bradley Kansou led the Chargers in receiving with 6 catches for 125 yards. Koali’i Torres caught 5 passes for 24 yards and 1 touchdown. Torres also scored a rushing touchdown on a 3-yard run at QB with :28 remaining in the second quarter.
