The Pearl City Chargers hit the road yesterday afternoon to open their Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division varsity baseball regular season and came away with an impressive 7-4 win over Leilehua.

Pearl City's starting pitcher Trenton Darley earned the win for the Chargers. Darley pitched 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs on 3 hits with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks. Chevy Sumile shut down the Mules in 1 inning of relief.

Trayson Kubo took the loss for Leilehua. Kubo pitched 6 innings, allowing 6 runs on 2 hits with 5 strikeouts and 7 walks. Jared Academia and Jansen Dangaran pitched in relief for the Mules.

Sam Prentice, Shaye Higa, and Brent Clymer picked up a hit apiece for the Chargers.

Ricky Van Gelder, Jonah Paas, and Trayson Kubo accounted for the Mules three hits in the ball game..

First year Pearl City head coach, Gavin Concepion recorded his first regular season victory with the win over Leilehua.

The Chargers return to action against Mililani on Saturday, March 7, 11:00am at Mililani High School.

Leilehua will travel to Radford to take on the Rams on Saturday, March 7 with first pitch scheduled for 11:00am.

Leilehua's Trayson Kubo took the loss for the Mules. Kubo only allowed 2 hits in

6 innings of work, but the Chargers were able to score 6 runs off of the Mules ace.

Matt Tsutomi scored on a bases loaded walk in the top of the third

inning that pulled the Chargers within one run of the Mules lead at 4-3.

Brent Clymer stroked an RBI single in the top of the third

inning that scored Christian Onomura to tie the game at 4-4.
