The 2009 OBON Dance Festival Bon Dance at the Pearl City Hongwanji proves to be a great time for all.
It’s been a while since I last attended a Bon Dance. Friday night definitely brought back memories as a kid hopping over the wall at my Uncle’s house in Nuuanu with my cousins to attend the YBA Bon Dance Festivals.
Friday night was quite an experience as Pearl City Hongwanji brought the community together once again to celebrate and share the Japanese culture. I would like to invite you to take a look and enjoy our Photo Gallery that features images from Friday night’s Bon Dance.
If you missed it last night, you can still attend tonight (Saturday 8/8) from 6:30pm.
Don’t forget to bring your appetite. The Bon Dance features a pretty good food booth concession set up. Plate lunches, Barbecue sticks, shave ice and cold drinks. Okay, I’m going back tonight. Hope to see you there. Have a great weekend!
