Pearl City Chargers Football opened the 2009 OIA Pre-Season schedule against Castle on Friday, August 14, at Bino Neves Stadium on the PCHS Campus.
Junior Varsity:
Castle 25 Pearl City 2
Varsity:
Castle 37 Pearl City 7
The Castle Knights traveled from the Windward Side to take on the Chargers at home. The Knights came away with wins over both the JV and Varsity contests. In the Varsity match-up the Knights put up 34 of their 37 points in the first half. Pearl City Chargers coaches were given an opportunity to see where they need to improve on both sides of the ball as the Knights showed why they are considered a title contender year after year in the OIA Red Division.
A full stadium crowd kicked off the Pre-Season showing support for the Chargers as they make their way to the OIA White Division regular season. Next up for the Chargers is match-up with the Aiea on Saturday, August 29 at Home. JV game starts at 4:00pm, Varsity to follow at 6:00pm.
