Pearl City Chargers Football Teams Drop a Doubleheader to Moanalua at Menehune Field

Pearl City 13, Moanalua 21

The Chargers dropped a tough contest to the Menehune last Friday (9/11/09) in
OIA White Division, Junior Varsity action. The Chargers trailed the Menehune 14-7 entering halftime. Both teams were held to a touchdown in the second half. The Chargers scored on a bomb from QB Angel Aponte to Airick-Jeffrey Pelen as time ran out to make the final score 21-13.


Pearl City 25, Moanalua 28

The Chargers had a tough time Friday night handling Moanalua’s ground game as the Menehune pounded out over 300 yards rushing. Pearl City traded long runs from scrimmage with Moanalua in the 3rd Qtr. Moanalua running back Tahje Canyon scored first on a 65 yard TD run. The Chargers came back with a 54 yard TD run from running back Ray Cooper. Canyon put the Menehune ahead for good in the 4th Qtr. scoring on a 40 yard touchdown pass from QB Adam Francisco.

Pearl City takes on Anuenue on Friday, September 18 at PCHS. Game time is set for 6:00pm. Pearl City falls to 1-3 (1-2 in the White Divison).
