Junior Varsity: Pearl City 31, Kalaheo 6
Pearl City Chargers Junior Varsity team continued its winning ways on Saturday, October 10 by defeating the Kalaheo Mustangs 31-6 on a rainy night at Bino Neves Stadium on the PCHS Campus.
The Chargers scored first late in the 2nd Quarter on a TD reception from QB Angel Aponte to SB Kailon Sabate. Jordan Mendiola scored on a 2 point conversion to put the Chargers up 8-0.
The Chargers put up 6 more points with 6:38 remaining in the 3rd Quarter on an 80 yard TD reception from QB Brock Teixeira to Kailon Sabate. Anthony Clemente scored on a 2 point conversion that put the Chargers up 16-0.
Charger return man Isaiah Alcantra took a Mustang kick off 85 yards to the house to make the score 22-6. 2 point conversion good. Pearl City would extend its lead to 24-6 with 1:10 remaining in 3rd Quarter.
Pearl City Chargers final score came at 6:27 of the 4th Quarter on a 4 yard TD run by
RB Vince Toreph. Kicker David Laronal converted the extra point kick and the Chargers lead extended to 31-6.

Varsity: Pearl City 22, Kalaheo 25
The Chargers Varsity football team lost a heartbreaker in OT to the Kalaheo Mustangs
in the rain at Bino Neves Stadium Saturday night. The OIA White Division match up was played exactly how it was billed, TOUGH. Both sides played aggressive, hard hitting ball all night.
Pearl City led at the half 13-10. Pearl City recovered a Mustang fumble on the PC 4 yard line with 6:05 remaining in the 3rd quarter to stop a Kalaheo drive. The Mustangs dropped the Chargers for a safety to close the gap to 13-12.
Kalaheo scored with 44 seconds left on the clock in the 4th Quarter to tie the ball game at
19-19. The Chargers elected to run out the clock and force overtime. Pearl City got the ball first and scored on a 34 yard field goal by kicker Tyler Yamanouchi. The Chargers led 22-19. Kalaheo countered with a TD to put the Mustangs up 25-22 for the win.
Cheer on Pearl City Chargers football this week Friday, October 16 as the Chargers
celebrate Homecoming against the Kaiser Cougars at Bino Neves Stadium. The Junior Varsity game kicks off at 5:00pm. Varsity game starts 25 minutes from the conclusion of the JV contest.
