The Pearl City Lady Chargers spent the first half of Wednesday's OIA Red Girls Varsity Basketball playoff game against the Mililani Trojans trying to get something going on offense. They entered the locker room at the half leading Mililani by a point, 16-15.

The second half was a different story. Both the offense and defense clicked as the Chargers pulled away for the 40-24 victory. Mililani struggled offensively in the third period as the Chargers outscored the Trojans 12-3. Chargers senior guard, Jordan Ahakuelo put in a last second bucket off a steal to end the third period, increasing the Pearl City lead over Mililani by 10 points at 28-18.

It was all Pearl City in the fourth period. Ahakuelo led all scorers with a game high 17 points.

The Chargers(13-2) earn their way to host tonight's match up against the Moanalua Menehune (9-6) in the double elimination tournament at 6:00pm. Moanalua defeated Kapolei (10-5) on Wednesday, 46-42 to advance. Mililani will host Kapolei tonight at 6:00pm for fifth place.
