Moanalua defeated Pearl City 1-0 in the First Round of the HHSAA State Boys Soccer Championships at the Waipi'o Peninsula Soccer Complex on Wednesday.
Moanalua (9-4-3) moves on to the Quarterfinals to meet #1 Punahou (8-1-3) on Thursday, Feb. 11. Game time is set for 7:00pm at the Waipi'o Main Stadium.
Senior midfielder, Alex Colby scored the winning goal for the Moanalua Na Menehune.
Pearl City (6-5-4) will face King Kekaulike (7-3-3) in a Consolation Semifinal match up on Thursday, Feb 11 at 1:00pm on Field #7. King Kekaulike lost a heart breaker to Kapolei (9-2-3) 3-2 in 2 OT on Wednesday.
