The Pearl City Chargers Varsity baseball team is proving to be hard to score on as they stopped the visiting Aiea Na Ali'i 12-2 on Wednesday. After giving up a run in both the 1st and 2nd innings to the Na Ali'i, Chargers starting pitcher, Edwin Izumigawa settled in, blanking Aiea the rest of the way as the game ended in the sixth due to the 10 run rule. Center fielder, Jordan Oshiro's 2 run single in the bottom of sixth finished off the Na Ali'i.
"He did a good job today. He got ahead on some guys but he kept the ball up so that's why they got the base hit after two outs. We're trying to get him to keep it down so it's okay," said Chargers Head coach, Gary Nakamoto on Izumigawa's performance.

Pearl City batters backed up their pitcher from the very first inning, scoring eight runs to take a 8-1 lead after one complete.
In the first inning, starting catcher, Royce Murai drove the ball over the left-center outfield fence for a three run shot, his first homerun of the season.
"At least the first inning we put the ball in play so we scored the eight runs to get us going," said Nakamoto.
The Chargers have outscored their opponents 39-3 in the last three games. This past Saturday, the Chargers swept Leilehua on the road, 19-0 and 8-1.

Aiea (2-3) will get another shot at Pearl City (5-0) this Saturday, in a televised match up from Hans L 'Orange Park in Waipahu. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
