Pearl City took care of business at home in OIA Red West Varsity Boys Volleyball action on Wednesday. The Chargers defeated Campbell in straight sets 25-19, 25-23 and followed that win with a 25-19, 26-24 straight set victory over Leilehua.

In the first contest against Campbell, the Chargers knew that they would have to control the game from the first serve. Pearl City Head Coach, Chris Kaneko executed a game plan that balanced both defense and offense.
"I think it was ball control and just keeping the ball in play and just focusing on our defense and running our offense," said Coach Kaneko.
In second match up, the Chargers were challenged by the visiting Leilehua Mules after winning the first game 25-19. The second game came down to wire as the two teams went back and forth until the Chargers took the lead at 25-24 and finished it off when #14 Reese Bustamente-Tolbe put down the game winner off a block at the net to make the final score 26-24.

"Leilehua, they have really good middles. We made sure that we tracked them out and try and take them out as much as possible and we played defense around everybody else. Also to work our middles because we had really quick middles. We were just trying to run our offense, pass the ball, just run our middles and watch their middles," said Coach Kaneko.
