Warren Hiromoto of Pearl City recently received the Mayor's 44th Senior Volunteer Award from Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann on April 8, 2010 at the Hawaii Convention Center. Mr. Hiromoto was one of 79 nominees.

Mr. Hiromoto was nominated by the Waiau Seniors Club from Pearl City. "It was an honor to be nominated by the Waiau Seniors," said Hiromoto. "It was like graduation for I had leis up to my eyes from the Waiau Seniors. It was truly a day of blessing."
Waiau Seniors Club member, Miyoko Miyashita initiated the application process late last year to nominate Hiromoto on behalf of Club. "Just being nominated was an honor but was I surprised on how many activities I was involved in during these past 6 years," said Hiromoto. His activities amount to over 1200 hours of community service mostly in Pearl City.

Mr. Hiromoto is a super senior volunteer and currently supports the community in the following organizations: Pearl City Community Association, Pearl City Foundation, Mana Loa-Nimitz Lions Club, Grace Bible Church and formerly at the Pearl City Lions Club.
"Whatever community you belong to you must be involved, said Hiromoto. "Pearl City has been special because of the kind of people living here. I have been blessed to be surrounded by good people of all ages who voluntarily give their support to make any project a success and with the Lord's help the journey becomes easier. I'm looking forward to continue "To Serve" mankind."
