Pearl City (3-1) defeated Makakilo (MKH) 9-4 on Saturday at Pride Field in Barbers Point to advance to the 2010 District 7 Majors Little League Championship game against Waipio (3-0) on Sunday.
Pearl City wasted no time scoring three runs on two hits in the top of the first inning. Colby Hirano led off the inning with single and would later score the first run of the ball game. Pearl City scored two more runs in the inning to go up 3-0 over Makakilo (MKH).

Pearl City starting pitcher Taylyn Kimura pitched three innings allowing one hit with three strike outs.
In the bottom of the first inning, with one out, Makakilo's Kaulana Stanley singled to center field. Stanley reached second base on a pass ball and took third base on steal but would be tagged out on a close play at home.

Pearl City put it together in the top of the fourth inning scoring six runs on three hits to go up 9-0 over Makakilo (MKH). Ty Kurata led off the inning for Pearl City with a walk. Kurata was replaced by pinch runner Nick Au. Au reached second base on a pass ball that got bye the Makakilo catcher. Brent Watanabe walked putting runners on first and second. Keanu Nicholson comes in to pinch run for Watanabe at first. Au steals third base. Nicholson steals second. Taylyn Kimura walks. Bases loaded, no outs. Makakilo makes a pitching change bringing in Kainoa Manoha from center field to relieve Markus Ramos. Au scores on a pass ball at the plate. Next batter Kawaiola Takemura strikes out for out number one. Micah Balderas walks. Nicholson scores on a pass ball at the plate. Colby Hirano strokes a single scoring Kimura from third and Balderas from second. Matt Yokota strikes out for the second out. Codie Paiva hits an RBI single to right field and would score on a throwing error. Derrick Kurihara came in to pinch hit for Noah Abreu and would fly out to right center field for the third out.

In the bottom of the fourth inning Pearl City brought in Colby Hirano in relief of starter Taylyn Kimura. He would later yield to Nick Au in the bottom of the fifth inning and move back to second base. Au would load the bases and be replaced by Sanyo Lo. Makakilo's Jordan Macias smacked an RBI single to make the score 9-1. Kaulana Stanley drove in two more runs with a single. Makakilo scored three runs on three hits to close the gap to 9-3 entering the top of the sixth inning.

Makakilo made in interesting in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and one run already across the plate, Dexton Balinbin took a good cut at the ball but popped it up to Colby Hirano at second base for the final out.
Pearl City moves on to play Waipio on Sunday at 1:00pm. If Waipio wins, they will be crowned the 2010 District 7 Champions. If Pearl City wins, they will force a winner take all game for the Championship on Monday. Waipio beat Pearl City on Thursday 5-1 to stay unbeaten at 3-0 in the double elimination tournament.
