The Pearl City Community Association (PCCA) is in the planning process for their Annual Installation/Appreciation Banquet to be held on January 23, 2011. The current PCCA Board of Directors have expressed a desire to reconnect and honor the original PCCA Board Members from 1959.
"The objective is to find the original Officers of the Pearl City Community Association and invite them to our Installation Banquet," said current PCCA President, Jits Fujimura. " We would like to thank them for their hard work and show them how far we have come from May 1959 to the present day."
Here are the names of the 1959 PCCA Board Members to be honored:
- Yoshimitsu Fujinaka
- George M. Okano
- Mitsugi Yoshinaga
- Robert Uno
- Masao Yasuda
- Dr. Joseph Nishimoto
- Harold Mitsuo Sakai
The PCCA (a non-profit organization) was established in 1957 and incorporated in 1959. It was established to promote the health and welfare of our community.
Anyone who has an abiding interest of the welfare of this community, where ever he may reside, can become a member of this association. PCCA serves the entire Pearl City area and its 40,000 residents. Last year, the PCCA communicated with over 750 past and present PCCA members.
The Pearl City Community Association also supports activities of the ten schools in the Pearl City Complex through donations and manpower.
Four deserving graduates from Pearl City High School receive $1000 dollar Scholarships each year from the PCCA. The PCCA also contributes to the Pearl City High School Project Graduation Program.

Athletic teams that represent Pearl City in national tournaments receive support from the PCCA.
The PCCA also works closely with the Pearl City Foundation at the Momilani Community Center to support community events. The Pearl City Foundation's Halloween Bash is a success each year with volunteers from the PCCA lending a hand with manpower.
The Pearl City Foundation returns the favor by supporting the PCCA Family Fun Day held at the Momilani Community Center in August.
