AIEA-PEARL CITY NEIGHBORHOOD TOD PLAN – PUBLIC REVIEW DRAFT
COMMUNITY WORKSHOP 4

Wednesday, November 17, 2010
6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Pearl Ridge Elementary School Cafeteria • 98-940 Moanalua Road

Transit-Oriented Development is moving ahead! Rail transit is coming to Pearlridge, Leeward Community College, and Pearl Highlands! These new stations will create opportunities for investment in new housing choices, shops and restaurants, improved and expanded park space, safer conditions for walking and biking, and more.

The draft Plan for transit-oriented development in these three areas will be presented at Community Workshop 4. The Plan is the culmination of three prior public events at which the community created planning principles and
provided feedback on alternative plans for the areas within an approximate half-mile radius of each station.

The Plan proposes new land uses and development opportunities, public space improvements, zoning recommendations, and phasing strategies, including the following “big ideas”:

•New mixed-use and residential development at the Leeward Community College campus
• Higher density urban development within 1/4 mile of the Pearl Highlands and Pearlridge stations
• Improved public access to UH Urban Garden Center
• New neighborhood parks and green space with access and views to Pearl Harbor
• New bicycle trails and improvements to the Pearl Harbor Historic Trail
• Pedestrian-friendly streets

Your participation is key to the success of the Plan!
