Pearl City Christmas Parade rolls into the Pearl City Shopping Center

Pearl City residents got a great start to the 2010 Christmas season on Sunday as the Annual Pearl City Christmas Parade sponsored by the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association with the support of Pearl City High School Project Grad volunteers rolled through the community.

“From the folks at the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association to the Pearl City High School Project Grad team, we would like to say thank you for helping us put this parade together,” said Sheri Rolf of Rolf Advertising.

A few thousand residents lined Hoolaulea Street to watch the colorful procession of Pearl City Christmas Parade floats and marchers as they made their way from Momilani Elementary School to the Pearl City Shopping Center parking lot.

“We had over a 100 vehicles and we had over 700 marchers and it was a great day,” said Rolf. “The day was filled with singing and Santa with the Pearl City High School Marching Band and the Hawaiian Electric float. We had reindeer and we even had ginger bread houses, everything you need for Christmas.”

Positioned along the parade route were three VIP judges who volunteered for the "not so easy task" of choosing winners in the “Best Vehicle in Parade” and “Best Marching Unit” Divisions.

Pearl City High School Principal, Carlyn Fujimoto, Pearl City/Waipahu District Complex Superintendent, Sheldon Oshio and Pearl City High School Assistant Athletics Director, Kyle Miyashiro did a great job (in the hot sun) on Sunday.

Miss Hawaii USA, Angela Byrd and Miss Hawaii Teen USA, Courtney Coleman also attended Sunday’s Pearl City Christmas Parade as volunteers to help with the awards ceremony held at the Pearl City Shopping Center fronting Bank of Hawaii.
