No rain delay for new Pearl City Elementary School storage room

On Wednesday, January 12, 2011, Pearl City Elementary School staff, PTA parents and community volunteers braved last week's stormy weather to help with the concrete pouring for the newly renovated storage room near the school cafeteria.

Cement begins to flow from the truck as volunteers man their positions.

The rain eased up just enough to allow for the 9:00am cement pour of the storage room floor. "Everything went well. The pour was fast," said Warren Hiromoto who volunteered to help while representing the Pearl City Community Association (PCCA).

There was a concern that the rainy weather that had pounded the Leeward side the night before and early morning hours, might play a factor in possibly postponing the pour. Volunteers showed up anyway, ready to go in support of their school and Principal Dr. Susan Hirokane.

Great job to all the volunteers who once again turned out to support another Pearl City District Complex school and most importantly helping out to improve our students learning experience.

Mahalo to Calvin Kaneshiro from Pearl City Elementary School for providing the excellent photos from the event.
