The Pearl City Chargers earned a close 3-2 victory over the Leilehua Mules in OIA Red Western Division varsity baseball yesterday at Fred Wright Park in Wahiawa. The win keeps the Chargers perfect at 3-0 early on in the regular season.

After being rained out earlier in the week and a cancelation due to Furlough Friday, the Chargers and Mules finally took to the baseball diamond on Saturday. Chargers starting pitcher Isaac Shim earned the victory going six innings and striking out six.

Tyler Tokunaga came in relief in the bottom of the seventh inning and recorded a save for the Chargers.

Pearl City's Chevas Numata came through once again as a clutch hitter, driving in the winning run with a single in the top of the third inning to break a 2-2 tie. Numata went 2-3 at the plate.

Leilehua losing pitcher Josh Lorenzo kept the Chargers bats in check allowing five hits in seven innings.
