A few hundred excited keiki and their Ohana attended the Annual Waiau Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at the Waiau District Park in Pearl City. The Easter Egg Hunt was sponsored by the City and County of Honolulu Parks and Recreation with generous donations from the community supporting the event as well.

"This our annual Waiau Easter Egg Hunt," said Andrew Yamada, Director, Waiau District Park. "We've changed the format so it's only from infants to six years old. We've had some generous donors, the Pearl City Community Association (PCCA), the Pearl City Lions, my Waiau Ballroom Dancers, Cookie Corner, Big City Diner and a few more."

Pearl City families had a great time attending and participating in the well organized and fun Waiau Easter Egg Hunt. Yamada led a group of Directors from other Pearl City neighborhood Parks who also participated on Saturday. Their dedication to our Pearl City community and Ohana shined through during the event.

"I enjoy working with the younger kids," said Yamada. "It's something special for me."

A special Mahalo to all the community and business volunteers and supporters who came through to make the Annual Waiau Easter Egg Hunt a success and especially a fun event for the whole family to enjoy.

"We weren't able to do it last year because of the situation with the city finances but we went ahead and tried it this year and we are fortunate to be able to do it," said Yamada.
