Warren Hiromoto

Sep 1, 2011 | Heart and Soul

MyPearlCity.com is honored and privileged to announce and recognize Warren Hiromoto as our PC Heart & Soul volunteer for the month of September.

Hiromoto is the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back for someone in need (I've actually seen it happen).

What truly makes Hiromoto a valuable contributor to our Pearl City community is his dedication to do whatever it takes to make a difference. He wears many hats and accomplishes a lot while holding down a full time job in the insurance business.

On the leadership side of community service, Hiromoto serves as President of the Mana Loa-Nimitz Lions Club. He is also a Board member for the Pearl City Community Association (former President) and the Pearl City Foundation.

Hiromoto also volunteers his time each year to help with our Pearl City District Complex Schools by providing breakfast and lunch for school events, most recently at Manana Elementary School and Pearl City Highlands Elementary during their welcome back to school for teachers and staff.

As a member of the Mana Loa-Lions Club, he recently led a group of Lions club volunteers to help with the Highlands Intermediate School Campus Beautification Day.

In late July of this year, Hiromoto, along with partner Jits Fujimura and a team of Pearl City Community Association volunteers, manned the barbecue pit for Momilani Community Center's, Summer Intersession Mahalo Dinner for students and their families.

Hiromoto donates his cooking talents to many community related events. His specialty is roast turkey and stuffing. Unbelievable! This past summer, the Pearl City Community Association conducted a fundraiser car wash to benefit Pearl City High School's Project Graduation Program. Car wash ticket holders received a free plate lunch that included Hiromoto's turkey and stuffing along with donated beef stew and smoked meat. All at no charge. All from the heart to help make the car wash fundraiser a success. I can't remember ever receiving a free plate lunch while my car was being washed until I met Hiromoto and the Pearl City Community Association gang,

Besides coordinating and volunteering for community events and fundraisers such as the Pearl City Foundation Halloween Bash and the Pearl City Community Association's Family Fun Day held at the Momilani Community Center, Hiromoto also volunteers as a judge for  the Pearl City Shopping Center's Halloween Costume Contest and participates in the annual Christmas Parade.

He is also very active with his church that supports many community events in our Pearl City Community.

In 2010, Hiromoto experienced one of the most humbling experiences of his life after being recognized as the recipient of the Mayor's 44th Annual Senior Recognition Award for his volunteer efforts in the community.

Waiau Seniors President, Mary Takeshita wrote the following comment while nominating Hiromoto for the award;

"Warren is always helping seniors in need of assistance such as wheelchairs, offering his car to drive them to destinations or functions. This is not only in the Waiau Seniors Club but at other organizational functions. He has visited several seniors in Nursing Homes, Foster Homes and Adult Care.

Everyday is a new day of doing good for the human race especially in the area of residency. Through his kindness and generosity he has brighten many seniors not only in our club but within his ohana and support group of volunteers."

Warren Hiromoto keeps busy with all his volunteer duties and responsibilities. He loves every second of it and appreciates the opportunity to help. He's a manpower kind of guy and is always ready and able to load up his white pick up truck and get the job done.

Always humble. That's what makes him special and appreciated by all who come in contact with him. A hard working friend to all (and a great cook too!).
