Kahuku drops Pearl City 3-1 in OIA Red volleyball playoffs

Kahuku turned it on in the final two sets Tuesday night against Pearl City to advance in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division girls volleyball playoffs with a 25-19, 24-26, 25-10, 25-18 win at Moanalua High School.

The Red Raiders (11-2) who represent the OIA Red Eastern Division as the No. 3 seed moves on to face OIA Red Eastern Division Champion Moanalua (13-0) today at 5:00pm in a quarterfinal match up at McKinley High School. Moanalua defeated Waianae on Tuesday, 25-19, 24-26, 25-11, 25-13 to advance.

Pearl City (7-4) who came into the OIA tourney as the OIA Red Western Division No. 2 seed and will play Waianae (7-5) the West No. 4 seed today in the loser's bracket at Radford High School. First serve is set for 5:00pm.

Tyra Williams led the Lady Red Raiders with 11 kills followed by teammate Tatiana Brown with 10 kills in the win over the Lady Chargers.

Brandee-Gail Chun had 8 kills for the Lady Chargers.
