Lot’s of fun, food and crafts at PEACHES Harvest Festival

Pearl City Highlands Elementary School (PEACHES) invited the community to the school campus on Saturday, October 29 to enjoy a day of fun at the PEACHES Kokua Hui's 2nd Annual Harvest Festival Craft Fair.

There was a lot to do as the PEACHES grounds overflowed with food booths, games, and a craft fair in the cafeteria that helped get Harvest Festival Craft Fair attendees a jump on their Holiday shopping.

PEACHES staff, students, parents and community volunteers set up and manned food and beverage booths and game booths along the school walkways that kept the craft fair crowd well fed, hydrated and having fun during the event. Funds raised will go towards supporting each grade level for the 2011-2012 school year. Last year, the money was used for field trips, to pay for buses, camps and other school related needs.

Community volunteers from the Mana Loa-Nimitz Lions Club, Pearl City Community Association, along with school staff and other volunteers did a great job in making sure everyone found a place to park in the designated parking areas around the campus. The volunteers kept the flow of traffic smooth and safe entering and exiting the school grounds.

It was another great experience for PEACHES and the Pearl City community Ohana.

There was only one problem that I experienced for the second year in a row at the Harvest Festival Craft Fair, "they sold out at the Lumpia booth again!" Okay, problem for me, great for the school's fundraising efforts. Awesome job!

A big Mahalo to Nathan Young (PEACHES staff), the most talented craft fair organizer in Hawaii. Mr. Young and his core of volunteers presented another well planned and executed PEACHES Harvest Festival Craft Fair. I'm really looking forward to next year!
