Chargers compete in OIA West Division Wrestling Mini Tournament

The Oahu Interscholastic Association 2011-2012 Wrestling season got underway on Saturday, December 10 with an OIA Western Division Mini Tournament held at Waialua High School.

Pearl City Chargers Head Coach Mike Lee sent his Varsity and Junior Varsity Boys and Girls teams to Waialua High School to compete in the mini tournament.(Tournament results to follow)

The Chargers are coming off a successful 2010-2011 Western Division season capturing the Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls and Junior Varsity Girls Championships.

Chargers Varsity Boys also won the 2010-2011 OIA Championship. The Chargers Varsity Girls finished runner up to Kahuku in the OIA Championship.

2010 HHSAA Varsity Girls State 220lbs. Champion and 2011 OIA Varsity Girls Champion, Sanoe Spencer returns for her senior year.

The Charger Boys will compete next in an OIA Mini Tournament at Punahou High School on Saturday, January 7, 2012. The mini tournament will include Farrington, Waipahu, Castle, Kapolei, Kaimuki, Aiea, McKinley, Kalani, Waialua, Nanakuli and Pearl City. Matches start at 9:30am

The Girls will be at the OIA Mini Tournament (All Girls Teams) at Leilehua High School on Saturday, January 7, 2012 with matches starting at 9:30am.
