Josh Ko’s 17 points leads Kalaheo over Pearl City 41-23

Kalaheo's Josh Ko led the Mustangs Tuesday night with a game high 17 points which included 5-3 pointers to beat the visiting Pearl City Chargers 41-23 in OIA Varsity Basketball preseason action.

Kalaheo came out shooting behind the hot hand of Ko from the opening tip off outscoring the Chargers 12-2 in the first period and 14-3 in the second to take a 26-5 halftime lead. In the second half, the Chargers actually outscored the Mustangs 18-15 but couldn't make up the first half 21 point deficit.

Other top scorers for Kalaheo; Kalani Green (7), Shem Sukumaran (6), Nainoa Frank (5) Derick Morgan (4), Jordyn Reinbdollar (2).

Pearl City's Tysen Hickcox led the Chargers with 8 points followed by Kailon Sabate (7), Paul Perry (3), Bryson Takaesu (3), Isaac Amorin (2).

The Chargers start the OIA White Division regular season on Monday, January 2, 2012 at home against Waianae. The Junior Varsity tips off at 5:30pm with the Varsity to follow 15 minutes after the Junior Varsity contest.
