Pearl City over Waianae 54-30 in season opener

The Pearl City Chargers (1-0) dominated the visiting Waianae Seariders (0-1) in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity match ups last night to open the OIA Red Western Division Boys Basketball regular season.

The Chargers defeated the Seariders 54-30 in the varsity contest behind a solid performance by Paul Perry III who grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 11 points. Marc Suniga 11, Kailon Sabate 10, Kainoa Perez 10, Ryan Arguelles 6, Isaac Amorin 6 all contributed in the win.

Jamal Lopez 9 and Devon Seabrooks 9 were top scorers for Waianae.

In the junior varsity contest, the Chargers were just as impressive as the varsity with a 48-21 blowout over the Seariders.

The Chargers return to the court to host Waipahu on Friday, January 6. The junior varsity is scheduled to tip off at 5:30pm with the varsity to follow 15 minutes after the conclusion of the junior varsity contest.
