A group of ten very special Pearl City Lady Chargers basketball players played in their last regular season home game as seniors last night going out in style with a 44-38 win over the visiting Aiea Lady Na Ali'i.
In return, family, friends and fans in attendance sent the girls off with an emotional Aloha! during the traditional post game senior celebration held at center court.
Pearl City Lady Chargers Senior Class:
Sabrina Angle, Adrienne Jean Sylva, Shawna Cayertano-Ramos, Shawna Angle, Sierra Tadiarca, Tearra Mayberry, Krystynn Naputi, Dani Magana,Tiari Walker, and Brandee Chun.
The seniors aren't done yet. The Lady Chargers finished the regular season at 9-1 and earned the second seed in the OIA Red West Division and will have a first round bye in the OIA Red Division Championships that begin next week.
The Lady Chargers finished in second place behind Mililani who beat Leilehua last night 54-46 to capture the OIA Red Western Division title with a perfect 10-0 record. Leilehua finished in third place at 7-2.
In last night's contest Pearl City's Adrienne Jean Sylva led the Lady Chargers with 18 points which included three 3-pointers.
Aiea's Mich‘lae Higa pumped in a game high 23 points which included three 3-pointers.
The Lady Chargers controlled the ball game from the tip off leading the Lady Na Ali'i 15-7 after the first period and taking a 28-19 lead into the half. It was pretty much the same through the third period with the Lady Chargers up 38-23 and 15 point lead entering the final period. The Lady Na Ali'i made a run in the fourth period outscoring the Lady Chargers 15-6 and closing within 6 points but came up short as time ran out.
