Mililani avenged an earlier regular season loss to Pearl City on Saturday with a 1-0 overtime win to capture the 2011/2012 Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Championship at Leilehua High School.

Pearl City entered the championship match up with Mililani undefeated at 9-0 and unscored upon in eight OIA Red Western Division regular season games and one OIA Red Division Championship playoff game.

Mililani came in at 8-1 with the only blemish on their record from their 1-0 loss to the Lady Chargers on December 8, 2011 at Pearl City High School's Edwin "Bino" Neves Stadium.

This time around they were on neutral ground at Leilehua High School's Hugh Yoshida Stadium. The Lady Trojans attacked the Lady Charger's goal most of the game. Pearl City goalie Ariela Bali kept the Lady Trojans in check shutting down all shots on goal through regulation play and well into the first 10 minute overtime period.

Pearl City goalie Ariela Bali dives with the ball in front of the goal in the second half against Mililani.

Late in the first overtime period, Mililani's Taylor Cadiz got off a shot that made it over the reach of Pearl City goalie Bali and into the back of the net for the winning goal and championship. It was the first shot to get past Bali in the regular and post season.
