Pearl City vs. Waianae split doubleheader 14-3, 11-10

Positioning for the lead in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Varsity Baseball Red West Division remained tight after a doubleheader split between the Pearl City Chargers (5-2) and Waianae Seariders (4-3) on Saturday at Waianae High School.

Pearl City overpowered Waianae 14-3 in game one pounding out 18 hits in the win. Kamalu Neal earned the win for the Chargers allowing 7 hits and 3 runs in a complete game performance. Jobe Cabral took the loss for the Seariders.

Pearl City's Tanner Tokunaga was perfect at the plate hitting 4-4. Tokunaga hit 6-7 in the doubleheader against Waianae pitching.

In game two, the Seariders turned it around jumping out to a 8-2 lead after three complete innings. Waianae led Pearl City 11-7 going into the bottom of the 7th inning when the Chargers closed the deficit to 11-10 but came up a run short of tieing it up to end the game.

Waianae's Sean Stevens-Sadomaru earned the win for the Seariders while Sean Milan took the loss for the Chargers.

In the game two loss to Waianae, Pearl City's Tyler Tokunaga hit 3-3 for a two game total of 5-7. A solid day at the plate for brothers Tyler and Tanner Tokunaga.

Pearl City returns to action at home against Leilehua on Wednesday, April 4 with first pitch set for 3;30pm.
