Pearl City Highlands Elementary School celebrates HO’IKE 2012

Pearl City City Highlands Elementary School held their ND Annual Ho'ike 2012 on Friday, May 18 on the school campus grounds. The theme for this year's Ho'ike was the "Wonderful World of Disney". PEACHES students from Pre-School through Grade 6 performed to classic Disney tunes along with creative and colorful hand crafted costumes and props.

PEACHES Ohana packed the school grounds from 8:00am to get a front row seat. Attendance actually swelled from last year's inaugural Ho'ike. "We parked over two-hundred cars on the school grounds today," said PEACHES Principal, Mr. Michael Nakasato as he addressed the crowd to open Ho'ike 2012.  "There are so many people who worked hard to make this day a success. Without them it would never have happened. Thank you."

It was a lot of fun enjoying all the wonderful performances by the PEACHES student body. The students put in hours upon hours of practice leading up to Friday's Ho'ike.

Ho'ike 2012 also celebrated the school being recognized as the #5 overall ranked elementary school in the DOE, statewide as reported in the May 2012 edition of Honolulu Magazine. Congratulations!

I would like to say Mahalo to PEACHES for the reserved parking, Hospitality room refreshments, special guest seating, beautiful lei, and thank you cards.

A special Mahalo to the terrific students who took good care of all the invited guests throughout the event!
