Pearl City and Moanalua play to 4-4 tie after 8 innings

Pearl City and Moanalua played to a 4-4 tie after eight complete innings in American Legion Baseball action played at Hans L 'Orange Park in Waipahu on Friday, June 1, 2012

Pearl City got on the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 early lead.

Moanalua picked up their first run in the bottom of the second inning and went up 3-2 over Pearl City with two runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Pearl City tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the fifth inning and went ahead 4-3 on an RBI single by Ty Kurata that drove in Jason Komoda from third base in the top of the sixth inning.

Moanalua came back and tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Justin Patterson that scored Mark Kuga and forced the game  into one extra inning of play that went scoreless.

Brayton Sakai started the game for Moanalua tossing 4 2/3 innings of work before being relieved by Casy Isa.

Lane Asuncion started on the mound for Pearl City. Sean Milan, Dane Kaneshiro and Shiloh Baniaga all saw action in relief on Friday.

Pearl City returns to action on Sunday, June 3 against Waianae at Hans L 'Orange Park. First pitch is set for 3:00pm.
