The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association ventured back into the Pearl City community on Wednesday with a $1000 check in support of the Pearl City High School Athletic Department for the 2012-2013 school year.
This is the second year in a row that the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association has contributed a $1000 check to help offset PCHS athletic department expenses.
"The money that we receive every year from the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchant Association is so valuable for our athletic department," said Shigemasa. "We're always short funded every single year, and with the $1000 donation it's really going to contribute to our supplies and equipment, and even transportation which is in dire need each year. We just want to thank the Pearl City Shopping Center for thinking about the athletic department of Pearl City High School."
George Cochard from Rolf Advertising, who also represents the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association, presented PCHS Athletic Director Shigemasa with the $1000 check donation. PCHS Vice-Principal Joseph Halfmann, PCHS Chargers state champion athletes, Maile Shigemasa and Tanner Tokunaga were also in attendance to receive the check.
The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association has donated over $3000 so far this year in support of our Pearl City District Complex Schools. Palisades Elementary School and Lehua Elementary School each received a $1000 Pearl City Shopping Center gift certificate donation in August.
