Kapolei shuts out Pearl City 5-0 behind the arm of Emilee Guillermo

The Kapolei Lady Hurricanes (4-1) handed the Pearl City Lady Chargers (2-1) their first loss of the OIA Red Division Junior Varsity Softball regular season on Thursday, at home,  behind the arm of  Emilee Guillermo who tossed a 5-0 shutout in seven complete innings of work.

Kristin Frost pitched five complete innings for the Lady Chargers before being relieved by Angel Maikui-Jenks in the bottom of the sixth inning trailing the Lady Hurricanes 5-0.

The Lady Hurricanes scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning and two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for the 5-0 win.

Kamryn Kanae had a productive day at the plate for Kapolei driving in two runs on an RBI double in the bottom of the third inning and adding another run on an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning. Makana Myers showed exceptional power at the plate with an RBI triple in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Pearl City and Kapolei will complete their two game series this Saturday, September 8 at Pearl City High School with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm.
