Last week, third grade teachers from Waiau Elementary School in Pearl City, reached out to MyPearlCity.com seeking monetary support for the school's free movie night titled "Napo'o ka La i Waiau" which will be held in November for Waiau Elementary School student's and their families.
MyPearlCity.com turned to the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association for their support and they responded with a $100.00 Pearl City Shopping Center gift certificate.
Waiau Elementary third grader’s will be hosting Napo'o ka La i Waiau. During the free movie, the third graders will be selling food as a class fundraiser. Napo'o ka La i Waiau is the main fundraising event for the class during the school year.
On Thursday, George Cochard from Rolf Advertising who represented the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association presented the third graders with the PCSC $100.00 gift certificate. The PCSC gift certificate donation will help the class buy supplies for the event.
Waiau third graders expressed their appreciation to MyPearlCity.com and the Pearl City Shopping Center with two beautiful lei and wonderful a thank you card that was signed by the entire class and teachers.
Waiau third grade Hawaiian Immersion students, led by Kumu Koleka Haia, expressed their appreciation for the donation in Hawaiian to both George and me following the presentation.
Thank you to the Waiau Elementary School third grade students and their teachers for making us feel so welcomed. Our goal is to continue to contribute to our Pearl City District Complex students so that they may be given an opportunity to have their learning experiences enhanced and supported throughout the school year.
"The funds we raise are used to pay for numerous educational resources and activities, such as buses for field trips and project materials for our third graders. Your support will go a long way in helping us raise money for the third graders of Waiau Elementary."
