HECO presents Energy Conservation Awareness at Lehua Elementary School

 

Hawaiian Electric Company sponsored an informative and fun Energy Conservation Awareness Evening at Lehua Elementary School on Wednesday, September 26 in the school cafeteria.

HECO representative Sam Nichols presented a 60 minute program to Lehua Elementary School staff, students, and parents that was filled with energy tips, interactive games and conservation prizes.

Attendees were also treated to a special energy conservation DVD made especially for Hawaii’s children and their Ohana.

Hawaiian Electric Company will venture back into the community on Saturday, September 29 for the Hawaiian Electric Clean Energy Fair at Pearlridge Center, Uptown Center Court from 10am – 3pm. The event is a kick-off for Energy Awareness Month in October.

The Energy Conservation Awareness Evening also included a wonderful conservation DVD made especially for Hawaii’s children and their Ohana.

A segment of the HECO produced ENER-G TV conservation DVD featured the importance of switching to compact fluorescent lights (CFL's) that typically use 75% less energy and last up to 10 times longer than standard incandescent light bulbs.
