The Pearl City Chargers Boys and Girls Air Riflery teams earned their way to the Oahu Interscholastic Association Air Riflery Championship after semifinal wins on Saturday, October 6 at the Pearl City High School shooting range.

Pearl City boys will meet Leilehua for the OIA team championship after outscoring Kalani 2071.35 to 1818.19. Charger girls will take on Leilehua after defeating Moanalua 2008.28 to 1840.16.

The OIA Air Riflery Team Championships wil be held on Saturday, October 13 at Pearl City High School.

The Charger boys will set their sights on a team championship three-peat after capturing OIA Air Riflery Championships in 2010 & 2011.

Charger girls will be shooting for a team championship repeat after bringing home the 2011 OIA Air Riflery Championship.

Pearl City boys and girls both finished the regular season undefeated at 7-0 while capturing the OIA Western Division Championship and setting team OIA and state records along the way.

"Pearl City is ranked number one in the state for the boys," said Chargers Head Coach Lester Aranaydo. "We broke the state record already in sense of team scoring. We aleady broke the OIA team scoring record as well. Our girls are ranked about third or fourth in the state. Even though we beat Leilehua in the division, it's anybody's game when it comes down to the OIA Championship."

Pearl City will be led by Sean Lamorena for the boys who is ranked number one in the state. Ashley Somera, who is ranked number one in the OIA, will lead the girls team.
