Punahou shuts out Pearl City 2-0 in opening round of DI state soccer tourney

ILH runner up Punahou advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2013 Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Division I Girls Soccer Championships after blanking Pearl City 2-0 on Wednesday in an opening round match up at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex in Waipahu.

Jensen Toner (12:00) and Dempsey Banks (62:00) scored both goals for Punahou.

Punahou moves on to tomorrow's quarterfinals and will face #3 seed Kamehameha-Maui in the Main Stadium at 3:00pm.

Pearl City dropped into the consolation bracket and will match up with Kealakehe on Field 8 at 1:00pm.
