The Pearl City Lions Club held their 7th Annual Valentines Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the Pearl City High School cafeteria.
Hundreds of residents turned out on Saturday making the annual event a huge success. Proceeds will go a long way in supporting Pearl City schools and the community.
"We want to thank the community and everybody who is making today a success," said Alice Kudo, Pearl City Lions Club Board Member. "Everything that we get from the breakfast will be going back into the community."
Besides raising much needed funds, the Valentines Breakfast also brings the community together for a chance to mingle and spend a fun morning together with neighbors and friends. Pearl City High School plays a big role each year in providing the perfect venue for the community to gather and support the cause.
"It's awesome!" Kudo said. "The camaraderie we see at the breakfast with our seniors coming out and the young folks all talking story. We want to thank the Administrators and cafeteria staff of PCHS for their continued support of our efforts by making the cafeteria available as our breakfast venue."
There are so many volunteers who came together to help make the event run smoothly. Here are some of the groups who volunteered their time:
Volunteers and Support
Pearl City High School Administrators and cafeteria staff
Pearl City High School students
Pearl City Boy Scouts Troop 75

The Wind Harmonic composed of members from the Pearl City High School Band.
Pearl City High School Robotics Team
The Pearl City Lions Club coordinates and participates in a number of community projects throughout the year that directly benefits our Pearl City students.
"Our signature project is vision and hearing which we do in about a dozen schools from pre-school and elementary," Kudo said.
