Eight run seventh inning rally lifts Waipahu over Pearl City 9-4

Waipahu exploded for eight runs in the top of seventh inning to erase a 4-1 Pearl City lead that put the Lady Marauders up 9-4 for the win over the Lady Chargers on Tuesday in OIA Red Western Division Varsity Softball played at Pearl City High School.

Waipahu's Shevan DeFreitas earned the win pitching seven complete innings. DeFreitas allowed four runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts and a homerun.

Pearl City's Kristin Frost took the loss for the Lady Chargers. Frost pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up six runs on three hits with two walks and no strikeouts. 

Pearl City reliever Cydny Rivera pitched 2/3 innings allowing three runs on one hit with three walks and no strikeouts.

Anuhea Rapoza homered for the Lady Chargers.

Pearl City falls to 1-2 in league play while Waipahu impoved to 2-1.

The Lady Chargers hit the road on Thursday, March 7 to face Waianae at Waianae High School with first pitch set for 3:30pm.

Laugatausala Pedebone had a big game for Waipahu hitting 3-4, scoring 2 runs and 2 RBI. Pedebone pictured scoring a run in the top of the seventh inning that put the Lady Marauders up 6-4.
