Lady Chargers drop second in row 5-3 to Waipahu

Waipahu turned back Pearl City 5-3  yesterday in OIA Red Division Varsity Softball play at the Lady Marauders home field. AJ Miranda took care of business from the mound in the win and Laugatausala Pedebone came through at the plate with a two RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning that tied the game at 3-3 and put the Lady Marauders up over the Lady Chargers 4-3 with the go ahead run.

Kristin Frost took the loss for the Lady Chargers in relief of Cydny Rivera.

Pearl City (3-5) returns to league play on Saturday, March 30 at home against Waianae (1-8).

Pearl City improves to 5-3 with 10-2 win over Leilehua

The Pearl City Chargers varsity baseball team is making a move in the OIA Red Western Division standings after defeating Leilehua 5-3 on Thursday in Wahiawa.

Neal throws one-hitter in seven complete innings

Pearl City's Kamalu Neal earned the win for the Chargers tossing a one-hitter in seven complete innings of work. Neal allowed two runs on one hit with three strikeouts and three walks.

Brandon Smithe took the loss for Leilehua allowing seven runs on four hits with three walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Kamalu Neal also led the Chargers at the plate hitting 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Dane Kaneshiro went 2-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Jonah Paas went 1-2, RBI for Leilehua.

Pearl City (5-3) returns to action on Wednesday, April 3 at home against Waipahu (4-2). First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm. Waipahu defeated Pearl City 3-2 in eight innings on March 9 at Waipahu High School.

Pearl City sits in third place in the OIA Red Western Division standings behind league leading Campbell (8-0) and Waipahu (4-2).
