Pearl City Lions, leading the way to help communities in need

The Pearl City Lions Club continues their efforts to go beyond their community borders to serve  communities in need with the help of their partnerships with other District 50 Lions Clubs as well as community organizations, businesses, and government agencies who are committed to improving the lives of our island residents.

The Pearl City Lions have an ambitious community service projects calendar planned for the months of July and August that will involve their club membership and partners in five community related service projects from Saturday, July 27 through Saturday, August 24.

Most recently, on Saturday, July 13, the PC Lions restriped the Nanakuli Elementary School parking lot and also spruced up the school grounds in the area.

Here's a look at upcoming community service projects:

Saturday, July 27 – Farrington High School Wall Painting

We are painting the Houghtailing Street wall and cleaning some weeds from a small area fronting N.King Street. This is a joint project with the Kalakaua and Mana Loa Nimitz Lions. The project starts at 7:30 AM.

Saturday, August 17 – Pearl City Industrial Park Graffiti Painting

We will be painting a small bridge toward the end of the road. Very nice stream! Starts at 7:30 AM.

Saturday, August 24 –  PearLCity Industrial Park Cleanup

This is a project with several organizations- HPD, Hawaii National Guard, Aloha Shoyu, Hanson Foods etc. We will be cleaning the sidewalks, weed whacking, and painting over graffiti.The Pearl City Lions are doing two other projects on the same day. We may get a few volunteers from the Leeward Lions.

Saturday, August 24 – Wheelchair Bowling at Fort Shafter

Pearl City Intermediate Leos and Pearl City Lions will join together for this community project.

Saturday, August 24 – Kapalama Elementary School Weinberg Project

Joint project with the Kalakaua and Mana Loa Nimitz Clubs. Maybe the Kamehameha and Chinatown clubs too. We are preparing the grounds for planting (3 areas). The Weinberg Foundation donation will go to the Hawaii Lions Foundation.
