Submitted by Kelsey Higa reporting from the Senior Little League World Series in Bangor, Maine:

Pearl City suffers a heartbreaker at the hands of Pennsylvania (East) losing their semi finals match up 9-4.

Pennsylvania came out swinging scoring 4 runs off of 6 hits in the very first inning. The starting pitcher for Pearl City was taken out and Brandon Henderson came in for relief. Brandon pitched a solid 5 innings, allowing Pearl City to come back 4 to 3.

Henderson was off to a good start in the 7th getting a quick two outs, East came out with a big two out rally. The next three batters all got on with singles, loading the bases for Pennsylvania. Takoushian hit a high hopping ground ball which went right through the legs of the shortstop (Kawaiola Takemura), allowing two runs to score. The next batter Garver was walked and Brandon Henderson was taken out for reliever Dane Kaneshiro. The very next batter, Tucker, was in the hole with a 2-2 count, and he ripped a triple to deep center scoring all three runners that were on base. Those 5 runs that Pennsylvania scored in the 7th inning proved to be too much for Pearl City. Pearl City scored one more run in the 7th, but came up a little short, losing to East 9 to 4.

Pearl City had a good run, going undefeated in pool play, but came up short in the semifinals against Kennett Square, PA (East).

Kennett Square, PA will take on Chitre LL, Panama tomorrow for the 2013 Senior Little League World Series Championship. Chitre LL, Panama beat Martinez-Evans LL (GA) 5-4 on Friday in the second semifinal match-up of the day.
