The Pearl City Chargers added to their string of state bowling championship after capturing the Boys and Girls state team championships on Friday at the Hickam Bowling Center. The Chargers dominated the two day event as the boys won their fourth state team championship in row while the girls picked up their third straight state team championship,
Pearl City sweeps individual championships!
Pearl City's Nicholas Azumi (1905) won the individual championship title with a final score of 1905. Teammate Ken Hayase-Fong finished in second place behind Azumi at 1858.
Chelsi Morishige led the Lady Chargers winning the individual championship title 1747 – 1699 over second place finisher Danielle August from Mililani.

Congratulations to Charger boys head coach James Hayashi and Lady Chargers head coach Millie Gomes for their outstanding efforts in preparing, leading, and guiding the Chargers to the pinnacle of competitive high school bowling and being crowned state champions once again.
Friday's haul of double state championship hardware was the third state title for the Pearl City Chargers Athletics Program this Fall as the Lady Chargers Air Riflery team brought home a state team championship earlier in the week.
