Inong kicks Pearl City into semis with 1-0 win over Campbell

Pearl City's Tasha Inong scored the winning goal to beat Campbell 1-0 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Division Girls Soccer Championship quarterfinals on Wednesday, at Campbell High School.

Inong’s winning score came off of a deflection in front of the goal at the 63rd minute. Jordan Gomes brought the ball down near the goal after a kick from about twenty yards out. Inong jumped on the opportunity in being in the right place, at the right time, to score the games only goal.

Pearl City, who entered last night's quarterfinal  game as the OIA Red West #5 seed, took down the OIA Red West Champion and West #1 seed Campbell that avenged a regular season 2-1 loss to the Lady Sabers.

Pearl City moves on to face Castle today at 5:00pm in the championship semifinals at Kapolei High School. Kapolei will take on Kaiser in the other semifinal match-up at 6:30pm.

The two semifinal games will be televised live on Oceanic Cable OC16.

Pearl City, Castle, Kapolei and Kaiser have all qualified for the HHSAA Division I State Championship Tournament.
