The defending 2013 state team wrestling champion Pearl City Lady Chargers finished in fourth place at this past weekend's HHSAA / Chevron State Varsity Girls Wrestling Championships held at Neil Blaisdell Center.
Kamehameha – Kapalama put together a powerful performance on Saturday during the finals to pull away from runner-up Lahainaluna from Maui for the team championship title. Kamehameha beat Laihainaluna with a 14 point margin of victory outscoring Lahainaluna 178.0 – 164.0.
The Lady Chargers placed five wrestlers on the individual awards podium with 3 – second place, 1 – third place , and 1 – sixth place finisher.
Congratulations to the Lady Chargers for their outstanding efforts in defending their 2013 state championship!
